The cost of a translation varies depending on the language, the type, the format and the length of the text to be translated and the timing required. The standard unit of measurement is the standard page. For some formats it is possible to use the word as the unit of measurement. The costs for special projects, such as graphic page layout, will be calculated based on the number of hours taken.

A standard page is 1375 characters including spaces, pursuant to the UNI EN 15038:2006 standard. The price of the translation is calculated by dividing the total number of characters in a document by 1375 so as to obtain the exact number of standard pages to translate. A unit value is attributed for each individual word, regardless of the number of characters that it contains; this value varies according to the language. The amount due for the translation is calculated by multiplying the unit value of the word by the total number of words in the document.

MT Rinaldi Traduzioni works with in-house and freelance translators/proof-readers, who translate into their native languages, with proven experience and professionalism in each area of translation. Even within a single text, parts containing different subject areas are identified and are entrusted to translators with the relevant area of specialisation.

Translation times vary depending on the languages and the complexity of the subject area. A professional translator is able to translate an average of 10 standard pages per day, equal to around 2,100 words. Rinaldi Traduzioni is able to considerably reduce the time required for complex translation jobs due to its organisational procedures.

MT Rinaldi Traduzioni confirms that it can provide “24 hours a day, 7 days a week” availability to the client upon reasonable prior notice; it tailors its service to the translation needs of the client and guarantees the management of translation projects for the whole period requested. The price may vary depending on the availability required.

Translation and proof-reading activities are always carried out by means of cross-checking activities between native speakers, in order to verify the precise meaning and relative translation of a text. The final quality control procedure (grammar, style, terminology etc.) is carried out exclusively in-house.

MT Rinaldi Traduzioni has CAT (Computer Aided Translation) tools and other software which allows different versions of the same text or similar texts to be compared, as well as allowing cross-referenced translation memories and glossaries to be created for all the various types of text required by the same client; this guarantees consistency in the translation and terminology throughout the different departments of the client’s organisation.

MT Rinaldi Traduzioni’s process of translating/proof-reading also includes notifying the client of any inconsistencies, gaps, errors, sections which are unclear or not very legible etc. which are present in the source text, including those of a material nature that relate to the content. This reporting service allows us, especially in legal texts, to manage those critical expressions and terms, which, if misconstrued, could change the meaning of the translation and cause damage to the client in terms of time, cost and reputation.

MT Rinaldi Traduzioni sends its freelance translators a text to be translated from which the important information has been removed – for example, any reference to: the contact person in the client company who has drawn up the text in question, the internal organisation of the client or of its companies, divisions, departments, managers, employees etc., clients or third parties that have relations with the client, and operating procedures or internal services or products which are peculiar to the internal organisation of the client etc. This is also the case when the contents or transactions are in the public domain. If required, texts of an explicitly confidential nature can be managed exclusively in-house by the Project Manager and her internal staff. MT Rinaldi Traduzioni is also willing to sign specific confidentiality agreements, particularly for confidential texts of a legal nature.
